An avid hiker with a passion for travel, Belchertown resident Helga Ragle cared deeply about the Pioneer Valley where she lived for most of her adult life. She often walked with her dogs at Amethyst Brook Conservation Area. Helga left a bequest to Kestrel Land Trust, creating a legacy that will help preserve the Valley’s forests and farmland for the benefit of future generations.
How Your Gift Helps
Your planned gift to Kestrel Land Trust helps us conserve and care for forests, farms, and riverways in the Connecticut River Valley of Western Massachusetts, while nurturing an enduring love of the land. Among many things, your support will help us:
work with willing landowners and communities to conserve farmland, woodlands, wildlife habitat, water resources, and recreational lands;
care for protected lands by monitoring their use, manage lands for wildlife habitat and create or enhance public lands and trails;
connect people to the land and to each other with public events, partnering with other nonprofits to benefit youth and underrepresented communities.
